On the Garmin Approach R50 touchscreen, sign in to your Garmin account.
Scroll to the farthest tile on the right-hand side of the main menu.
Select Partner Software (or Connect on some firmware versions).
Choose E6 Golf 2026 from the list of options.
The R50 will now generate a wireless hotspot. The screen should display a network name beginning with ApproachR50 and a unique password.
On your Windows PC, open your Network & Internet Settings (the Wi-Fi icon in the system tray).
Locate the ApproachR50 network and click Connect.
Enter the password displayed on the R50 screen.
Important: If Windows asks if the network is "Public" or "Private," TruGolf recommends selecting Public to ensure firewall settings do not block the communication.
Launch the E6 Golf 2026 software on your PC.
Navigate to the Settings menu and select Tracking System.
Select Garmin R50 from the list of supported devices.
If this is your first time connecting, you may be prompted to install Bonjour (a network discovery tool). Follow the prompts to complete this installation if it appears.
The software should now recognize the device, and the status indicator in E6 Golf 2026 will turn green.
Internet Access: Since your PC Wi-Fi is now dedicated to the R50 hotspot, you may lose internet access unless you use an Ethernet cable (LAN) for your main internet connection.
Firmware Sync: Ensure the Garmin R50 has the latest firmware via the Garmin Express app before attempting to connect to E6 Golf 2026.
Firewalls: If the device status remains "Searching," double-check that your Windows Firewall or third-party antivirus is not blocking E6 Golf 2026 or the Bonjour service.
