APOGEE How to allow through Windows Firewall

Symptoms:
There could be issues with APOGEE connecting to the PC, particularly during a fresh installation or update. The APOGEE installer may request permission to pass through Windows Defender Firewall rules, but this noticifation might be overlooked, leading to the installation being completed without add

Resolution:
1. Open up Windows search and type in Control Panel. Change the view to Large Icons.

2. Go into Windows Defender Firewall and then select Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall.
3. Click on Change settings.
4. Find where it says Apogee Intelligent Dashboard and check Private networks.

*Note: Sometimes you may have the legacy Apogee Control Center (ACC) or multiple instances of rules. Make sure all the boxes are checked for both private and public.  If the above steps do not resolve it:
  1. Uninstall the Apogee Intelligence Dashboard (AID) including any legacy version such as Apogee Control Center (ACC) from the PC. This can be done through the Control Panel, and Programs and Features. Once uninstalled you can then download AID again from https://trugolf.com/pages/support. This should rebuild the firewall rules. If the prompt to allow through windows firewall comes up during the installation, select Yes
If you are checking the firewall rules and rebuilding for other connection issues, please review KB "Apogee unable to connect to PC".
