Unable to initialize the graphic subsystem (E6 Golf 1.5 and 1.6)

Unable to initialize the graphic subsystem (E6 Golf 1.5 and 1.6)

Symptom:

  • Error occurs starting E6 Golf 1.5 or 1.6: UNABLE TO INITIALIZE THE GRAPHIC SUBSYSTEM

Resolution:

  • Make sure your PC’s video card drivers are up to date.
  • This is occurring when E6Golf is listed in the auto start folder. You will need to remove it and try launching E6Golf again.

The game can actually initialize before the video card has the opportunity to enter the correct drawing mode...causing the error.

  • Make sure the program was not launched on startup--if so, remove that option and restart the computer
  • Make sure no other application is running
  • Launch the game (1.6x example) directly to see if we still get the error: C:\Program Files\TruGolf\E6 Golf 1.6\e6golf.exe
