Dual Board set up
Connections and Wiring Instructions for Dual Tee
- The dual tee setup uses two standard serial hitting mats, a single set of acoustic sensors and the Dual Tee Switch box. A BNC male to dual BNC female t-adapter is put on each acoustic cable end so that a separate connection cable can be run to each mat. Both mats are operational but only one is communicating with E6 Golf at a time as determined by the handedness setting in E6 Golf for the current player and which is communicated via serial cable to the Dual Tee Switch box.
- A serial cable runs from each hitting mat to the computer location where they are connected to the Dual Tee Switch box in their respective port (Right Tee and Left Tee). A short serial cable is then run from the Dual Tee Switch box to the COM port on the PC. Power for the Dual Tee Switch box is provided by a standard 9V power supply similar to ones used for the hitting mats except it does not need to be extended in length.
Configuring the TRUTRACK.XML file for Dual Tee
- In order for E6 Golf to recognize the dual tee setup correctly, two values in the TRUTRACK.XML file need to be modified. Under the section <BOOTH> at the top of the XML file, the last entry is <Center_Offset Value = “0.00”/> . This value is the distance, in feet, from the centerline of the booth to the centerline of the hitting mat. For example, if the centerline of the mat is two feet from the centerline of the booth then the value would be “2.00”.
- Near the bottom of the XML file in the <TruTrack Specific> section is an entry called <Analyzer_Mode Value=”0”/>. The value “0” is for a center-positioned single mat. A value of “3” signifies this is a dual tee setup. E6 Golf then uses the Center_Offset Value as the offset distance for the main view and the centerline in the practice area. The view is adjusted right or left depending on the handedness setting for the player within E6 Golf. In the Practice Area you can select Right (default) or Left to activate the corresponding mat from the menu button.
After making the necessary changes to the XML file, save the file and the simulator should be ready to use the dual tee setup for golf play.
When Setting up a Dual Tee System
The following are additional Settings to those above to ensure good Calibration
*It’s best to Start with a Signature (14' wide) or Premium (15') Wide installation, with the correct Mat Type (Example: Fiberbuilt)
The Following Lines in the TruTrack XML might need to be modified to ensure a good calibration:
<Booth_Width_Inches Value=“164.000000”/>
(this is mic to mic)
<Booth_Height_Inches Value=“109.000000”/>
(self explanitory)
<Ball_To_Screen_Inches Value=“145.000000”/>
(Tee to Screen)
<micInchesFromScreen Value=“59.000000”/>
(all mics should be same distance--this is in inches)
<Booth_MicDistanceFromCeiling_Inches Value=“0.000000”/>
(Only needed if the mic is dangling--otherwise leave at 0)
<lightHeight Value=“92.000000”/>
(this is in inches)
