Shots seem shorter in E6 Connect than in real life with Flightscope

When shots appear shorter in E6 Connect compared to your real-world performance or even other apps like FS Golf, it is typically due to environment settings or physical setup, a "misalignment" between the radar and the software.

1. Check the "Tee Height" Setting (Common Mistake)
In E6 Connect, "Tee Height" does not refer to the plastic peg you put your ball on.
  • The Rule: It is the vertical distance between the bottom of your Flightscope unit and the top of your hitting mat.

  • The Fix: If your Mevo+ is sitting on the floor and your mat is 2 inches thick, set the Tee Height to 2 inches. If they are on the same level, it must be 0
    .
Setting this incorrectly causes the radar to miscalculate the launch angle, which kills carry distance.

2. Verify Altitude and Weather
E6 Connect defaults to "Standard Sea Level" if not configured, which will make the ball fly shorter than it would at higher elevations.
  • The Fix: Go to Settings > Environment
    (or within the round settings).
Ensure the Altitude matches your local area. Even a change from 0 to 2,000 feet can add significant yardage to your longer clubs.

3. Match the "Mode" to your Space
Distance issues often stem from selecting the wrong tracking mode in the configuration menu.
  • Short Indoor: Use this if you have 8–12 feet of ball flight (from ball to screen).

  • Indoor: Use this only if you have more than 12 feet of ball flight.

  • Tip: Many users find that even with 12+ feet, the Short Indoor
mode provides more consistent carry numbers in E6 Connect.

4. Physical Tilt and Roll
Flightscope units are extremely sensitive to the angle at which they sit.
  • Tilt: For simulation (E6 Connect), the unit should be tilted back exactly 12°
. (Note: FS Golf often uses 18°, so you must adjust the kickstand when switching between apps).

  • Roll: Ensure the unit is perfectly level (0° roll). You can check this in the Simulator > Configure menu within E6.

5. Check for "Indoor Swing Syndrome"
This is a documented psychological effect where golfers subconsciously swing slower indoors due to being in an enclosed space or fearing they might hit the ceiling/walls.
  • The Test: Check your Ball Speed in E6. If it is lower than what you see at an outdoor range, you are likely swinging slower. If the ball speed is normal but the distance is short, revert to the "Tee Height" and "Altitude" steps above.

6. Boost Settings (The "Final Resort")
If your setup is perfect but you still feel the yardages are slightly "punishing," E6 Connect allows for manual adjustment:
  • Navigate to Settings > Simulator > Configure.

  • Look for Sensitivity or Boost settings. You can globally increase the distance percentage (e.g., 105%) to align the software with your real-world expectations.
