MultiSport Arcade Calibration Tool Advanced Feature Guide

MultiSport Arcade Calibration Tool Advanced Feature Guide

Description: This guide covers the use of the MultiSport Calibration Tools Advanced features. To be used Primarily by support and installers however customers can also use as needed to improve shot registration when standard calibration techniques do not yield anticipated results.  This guide does not provide in depth troubleshooting but is a how to on how to use and what to expect inside the application.

Advanced Features

To access on the main menu Left "Click" in the upper left hand corner where it says menu.

Stress Test
This is the Stress Test.

The Front View is supposed to be set to 90 FPS, with the Rear Camera at 60 FPS
Frame Drops, and Critical and Frozen Frames are not necessarily anything to be alarmed about.
● It’s quite common to have some appear by just starting the unit. And this number only have value as represented in time.
Example: Pretend we have 800 Critical Frame Drops in the Front Camera, with an Uptime of 15 minutes.
That's 81,000 frames. (15*60*90) That’s an error rate just below 1%. That type of error rate would likely be unnoticeable.
So be careful how you interpret these numbers as they are not a smoking gun indicating hardware failure.

Lighting

This screen allows you to adjust the Exposure and Offset of the Cameras. Your goal is to improve the “Current Floor Visibility”
● 90% seen in this example is fantastic
Adjusting these numbers can have a negative impact:
● Ghost (or phantom) shots could start to appear for example
This is best used as a tool for the TruGolf Support Team, when evaluating the game area.
If the system is working…there is no need to try to optimize anything here. We will only use this tool if needed.
(Pro Tip:) If there are tracking issues before increasing exposure and offset, try adding more visible light to the front floor area. Avoid drowning out the screen with too much light as it can cause it to appear washed out.  If needed try not to exceed 4 for exposure and rarely have we needed to set offset to -2 but should be sufficient for most tracking. In most cases this is most useful for low rolled balls such as bowling.

Calibration Check

This screen is to give a quick glance at calibration numbers.
Green, means we’re well in spec.
Yellow is there to draw the eye…it might be worth a look
But you do NOT need to take action based solely on the information here. This screen is here to give a quick understanding of the installation and calibration.
You can also throw balls at this screen.
● You will see “Shots Registered”
● You will see “Object Detected”---that could be anything. Even the player moving through the volume.
● “Double Registered” will show if a shot registered TWO or more shots for a single throw. This can happen, but should be rare.
This is a great screen to watch for Ghost or Phantom Shots. If nothing is in view of the cameras…the “Object Detected” should remain solid.
There is an FPS counter at the bottom. You will likely see this fluctuate a little and that’s normal. You will only be looking for the abnormal here.
