How to Connect the Flightscope X3 device in E6 Golf 1.6 to Wifi

How to Connect the Flightscope X3 device in E6 Golf 1.6 to Wifi

To Connect the Flightscope X3 device in E6 Golf 1.6

This is a little complicated, as the X3 came out long after E6 Golf was first introduced.
And it’s not fully compatible (see below).

Open up FlightScope.xml and change the PreferredDevice from “Unknown” to “Wi-Fi” to get 1.6 to recognize to X3

FIRST
We need to edit the FlightScope.xml
It is found here: C:\TruGolf\E6 Golf 1.6\FlightScope.xml

SECOND
You will need to change this line: <PreferredDevice>Unknown</PreferredDevice>
To read: <PreferredDevice>Wi-Fi</PreferredDevice>

Example of how the file should read (in part) once edited:
===================================================
<FlightScope_Specific>
<AttemptDiscovery Value=“False”/>
<DualRadars Value=“False”/>
<PreferredDevice> Wi-Fi </PreferredDevice>
===================================================

As long as E6 Golf 1.6 was installed for the FlightScope...that should be all there is to it.

LET’S TALK ABOUT COMPATIBILITY

The X3 is a great device...but came out very late in the life of E6 Golf.
As such, short chips and putting are not going to work with the device in the game.

E6 CONNECT (the new version of E6 Golf) IS fully compatible with the X3, and does allow for chipping and putting.
