Courses Crashing on Launch in E6 Connect

Courses Crashing on Launch in E6 Connect

Symptoms:

  • The E6 CONNECT software crashes when loading a course
  • Some courses may work, while other are crashing

This is nearly always because the computer does not meet our PC Requirements
PC SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  • Intel i5 Processor
  • 8GB RAM
  • Nvidia 1070 Graphics Card or equivalent
  • 25GB of Hard Drive Space
  • Windows 10 64-bit (Required)
  • Internet Connection (Required)

Information to help you determine what video card you have here: What Video/Graphics Card do I have? (zohodesk.com)

If the issue isn’t the PC Requirements, we have a few things we can look at

FIRST
Try Deleting the Course, and downloading it again
*First, Select and Delete the Course:

  • Then, Download the Course Again. With the Course Selected, select DOWNLOAD, try to note any slowness errors or issues during the download.

NEXT
Could the Course be overwhelming your system, causing it to crash?
If we reduce the impact of drawing the course on your system, and it works, it’s likely the course (and game) are exceeding the power of your system (Likely your video card)

  • Set the game to render in the smallest window possible

  • Set SSAA lowest

  • Select a working Course (assuming you have one), and enter a round. If you don’t have a working course, skip the next step

*Disable FXAA

What are the results?--If it’s working now, that’s because we reduced the load on the graphics card.
If your machine is just too under-powered, it may never work.

AND FINALLY--Last Resort
Check your Hard Drive for Errors

  • Click on the Windows Explorer folder icon on your taskbar.
  • Click on This PC menu item on the left-pane.
  • Look for the hard drive icon with the Windows logo.
  • Right-click on the hard drive, then choose Properties.
  • Select the Tools tab, then click the Check button.

You can try Optimize, but it may take a while to load.
