Connecting GolfTrak to E6 Connect

Connecting GolfTrak to E6 Connect on iOS is a unique process because GolfTrak doesn't use standard external hardware.
Instead, it relies on your iPhone's camera and proprietary machine-learning algorithms to act as the launch monitor.
Because of this, the data bridge happens through a subscription and account link on the backend.

1. Account and Subscription Activation

Before opening the simulation software, your E6 license must be generated and linked via your GolfTrak account.

  1. Open the GolfTrak app on your iPhone.

  2. Ensure you have an active GolfTrak PRO + E6 bundle subscription.

  3. GolfTrak will automatically request and generate a special "GolfTrak 5-Course License" using the exact email address you registered with on the GolfTrak app.

2. Bind the License in E6 Connect

  1. Download and open E6 Connect on your iOS device (iPad or iPhone).

  2. Log in using the same email address that you use for your GolfTrak account.

  3. Upon logging in, the app will recognize the new pending tracking license. Follow the on-screen prompts to Bind the GolfTrak license to your iOS device.

  • Note: If you are already logged into an old or demo license, go to Settings > Info & Help > Simulator Binding, click Unbind, log back in, and select the new GolfTrak license.

3. Establish the In-App Connection

  1. Keep the E6 Connect app open or minimized on your playing device.

  2. Open the GolfTrak app on your iPhone.

  3. Set up your iPhone on a low tripod (ideally roughly 6 inches off the ground) positioned directly behind your hitting area according to the GolfTrak app's onboarding alignment lines.

  4. In the GolfTrak app, tap the "Play Virtual Golf" button on the homepage.

  5. This arms the camera tracking and establishes the backend network data handshake to E6 Connect.

  6. Return to E6 Connect > Settings > Simulator, ensure the tracking system is configured to receive the local data stream, and start your round.

Critical iOS Settings for GolfTrak

Because this connection uses cross-app communication and high-speed camera processing on iOS, verify these security toggles if shots aren't registering:

  • Local Network Access: In your iPhone/iPad system settings, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network. Ensure the toggles are ON for both GolfTrak and E6 Connect.

  • Camera Permissions: Ensure GolfTrak has full permission to utilize your camera under Settings > GolfTrak > Camera.

  • Device Compatibility Check: TruGolf notes that while standard iPads (Gen 5 or newer), iPad Airs, and iPhones (8 or newer) handle iOS E6 emulation well, certain base-model or older devices may experience latency when trying to process the real-time 3D ball flight algorithm simultaneously with the graphics engine.
