Connecting a GolfJoy Device to E6 Connect

Connecting a GolfJoy Device to E6 Connect

Symptoms:

  1. Needing to connect GolfJoy device to E6 Connect
  2. GolfJoy device not connected to E6 Connect

1. Establish the Hardware Connection

Before launching any software, ensure your hardware is communicating properly with your computer:

  • Connection: Power on your GolfJoy launch monitor/sensor system and connect it to your PC using the primary connection method (typically via USB cable or a direct Wi-Fi network connection).

  • Network Check: If connecting via Wi-Fi, ensure your PC is connected directly to the GolfJoy hardware network signal and that your network profile is set to Private to allow data mapping.

2. Start the GolfJoy Third-Party Service

E6 Connect cannot read raw data directly from the GolfJoy unit; it requires the GolfJoy driver software to translate the packets.

  1. Launch your native GolfJoy software or the GolfJoy Third-Party Connection Tool on your PC.

  2. Confirm that the status icon inside the GolfJoy software shows the tracking system is Connected and actively reading the sensors.

  3. Keep this software minimized and running in the background. Closing this tool will sever the data link to E6.

3. Configure the Simulator in E6 Connect
  1. Launch E6 Connect on your computer.

  2. From the main dashboard, navigate to Settings > Simulator.

  3. In the Tracking System dropdown menu, look for GolfJoy (or the interface designated in your hardware documentation, such as GSD or OpenConnect/API if using a specialized system bridge).

  4. Click Configure next to the selected tracking system.

  5. Ensure the network port matches the bridge software defaults (the standard local port for third-party handshakes in E6 is typically 2483).

  6. Click Accept. The connection status indicator in E6 should turn Green.

Troubleshooting Tips
  • Shots Not Registering: If your shots are registering in the GolfJoy software but the ball won't launch in E6 Connect, verify that Windows Defender isn't blocking the transmission. Go to your PC settings, look up "Allow an app through Windows Firewall," and ensure both E6 Connect and your GolfJoy application have full permissions on Private networks.

  • Port Conflict: Ensure no other golf simulation programs (such as native GolfJoy play modes or other third-party bridges) are running simultaneously in the background, as they will compete for the same communication port.
